Sheltered Housing Schemes

Iceni Homes will address, alongside Housing Associations, the need for long term, secure and supported homes for older people. Already, our three sponsoring Housing Associations provide top quality sheltered housing schemes for the elderly. We will be actively seeking to provide for older people in the communities that we serve and welcome partners with whom we can work to deliver these aims.

Type of scheme: 40 two-bed flats for people aged 55 years +

Location: Inverness Close, Chesterton, Cambridge.

Partners: Iceni Homes, Hundred Houses Society, Cambridge City Council, contractors SDC, MEPK architects and the Homes and Communities Agency.

The development: The energy efficient scheme at Inverness Close, Chesterton provides 40 two-bedroom apartments at Freeman House, located in its own grounds. The apartments have high levels of insulation, double glazing and some have renewable energy installations to help reduce heating bills.
