99 luxury apartments and a new fire station

The Parkside Place scheme is an S106 (Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990) developed in partnership with Grosvenor, with Wilmott Dixon as the contractor.

Built on a high profile, prestigious site in central Cambridge this development involved the demolition of the existing fire station, followed by the construction of a new fire station and 99 luxury apartments.

State-of-the-art fire station

The new Cambridge Fire Station in Parkside was redeveloped on the site of the old station and was handed over to the fire brigade in June of 2013. The station’s five watches operate one water tender, one multi-functional aerial and pumping appliance and a rescue vehicle – year-round. Alongside fire protection officers, community safety officers and a business support team also work from the building.

1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments

The structure includes a collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments – some of them duplex – and one penthouse. The notion of living life to the full is central to the design of the building, which features 39 affordable units.

Along with a private central courtyard garden, residents enjoy spectacular views over the 24-acre open grassland of Parker's Piece – one of the Cambridge's major parks – and Petersfield Park.
